Madera County Man Convicted of Attempted Murder of Sheriff’s Sergeant

On May 2, 2023, a Madera County jury found Defendant Luis Maravilla guilty of the attempted murder of a Madera County Sheriff’s Sergeant, nine counts of assault on peace officers with a firearm and another count of assault with deadly weapon when the deputy responded to Maravilla’s residence after his wife called 911 to report a domestic violence incident.
Luis Maravilla was sentenced to 105 years plus 40 years to life in prison on November 20, 2023.
