Susanville Police Arrest Driver for Alleged DUI, Possession of Stolen Gun and Narcotics

“On the evening of Wednesday January 31, 2024, the Susanville Police Department conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol in the City of Susanville.
In the early evening hours, a police officer with the Susanville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. K-9 Officer Zeke was utilized on this traffic stop and made a positive alert to the detection of narcotics in the vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle and was placed in handcuffs. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun that was stolen from out of the area, drug paraphernalia, suspected methamphetamine, and ammunition. The driver of this vehicle is a convicted felon and was booked into the Lassen County Jail on various charges.
Later in the night a different police officer conducted a traffic stop. The officer could smell the odor of marijuana coming out of the vehicle and a search of this vehicle yielded over 10 pounds of marijuana. The driver of this traffic stop was arrested for felony transportation of Marijuana.
