Merced Police investigators have opened a homicide investigation in connection with a fatal shooting last week, according to a press release.
Early on the morning of February 7th, officers responded to the area of Denver Way and Frankfurt Court to investigate reports of multiple gunshots. At the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive male victim at a residence who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was ultimately pronounced deceased.
Officers then learned of a second shooting victim who had fled to another nearby residence. This second victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
