Burglary Suspect Allegedly Returns to Same Area to Steal Vehicle, Arrested After Pursuit

An individual was recently arrested for alleged vehicle theft after leading police officers and deputies on a pursuit in San Benito County.
According to a press release by the Hollister Police Department, a residential burglary had occurred on the 300 block of Nash Road, in which the suspect allegedly forced entry through a window and stole approximately $2,500 worth of items. The suspect also stole the victim’s wallet and keys, police said.
In the early morning hours of April 19, the same victim reported that their vehicle had just been stolen. Hollister police officers and San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area.
Authorities pursued the suspect to the 2000 block of Salinas Road, where the pursuit ultimately ended. The suspect reportedly tried to flee on foot but was apprehended.
Authorities arrested the individual on suspicion of residential burglary, vehicle theft, evading a peace officer in a reckless manner, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property. The individual was booked at the San Benito County jail.
The victim’s property, including their vehicle, was returned.
