Two Arrested After Deputies Interrupt Burglary in Jones Valley
Two individuals were recently arrested after being interrupted in the process of allegedly trying to steal a vehicle in Jones Valley.
According to a press release by the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just before 2 AM on Friday, April 26, to a reported burglary in progress on the 13600 block of Bear Mountain Road.
The caller reported that two individuals, who appeared to be adult males, had been captured on video surveillance trying to steal a vehicle from a shop on the property.
Upon arrival, deputies reportedly found a vehicle parked in front of the shop that did not belong to the property and discovered that the south side shop door had been forcibly opened.
Another deputy arrived with their K-9 partner and announced their presence near the open door, prompting one suspect, identified as 49-year-old Keith Courtright, to exit the building.
The second suspect, identified as 28-year-old Austin King, allegedly fled on foot but was apprehended in Shasta Lake at around 11:30 AM that same day.
Courtright and King were both arrested and booked on suspicion of burglary.
There are no further suspects in connection with the incident, the Sheriff’s Office said.
