“Early evening this last Saturday night, Officer Quitugua stopped a vehicle on W. Covell Blvd near Anderson Rd for a traffic violation. During the stop, Officer Quitugua noticed a rifle stock sticking out from under an item in the back seat area and he quickly determined the stock was attached to a short-barreled assault rifle that had a partially loaded 40 round high-capacity magazine in it. There were no serial numbers on the rifle. Officer Quitugua determined the driver was prohibited from possessing firearms and he was also driving under the influence of alcohol.

The driver, 48-year-old Roberto Pineda from Woodland, was arrested for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to possession of the illegal assault rifle and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to the Yolo County Jail for booking.”
