The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of an individual for the alleged stabbing of another man.
Just before 1 AM on Monday, May 13, deputies from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on the 17000 block of Paradise Lane in Redding to investigate reports of a stabbing, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
The incident reportedly involved 34-year-old Flynn Zachary Jones, who is accused of stabbing a 58-year-old man.
Upon arrival, emergency medical personnel attended to the victim, who had sustained multiple wounds to his upper body and abdomen. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses at the scene reportedly identified Jones as the assailant and said that he had fled the scene on foot.
Later, a person matching Jones’ description was seen in the 12000 block of Lake Boulevard. Deputies located and detained him without incident.
Jones, who reportedly had blood on his clothing and body, allegedly denied any involvement in the stabbing, claiming the blood was from a fall.
However, deputies found no injuries on him that would support his claim.
Jones was ultimately arrested and booked at the Shasta County jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
