Two Suspects Arrested, Third Sought in Connection with Burglary in Twaine Harte
The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two suspects and identified a third in connection with an alleged burglary in Twaine Harte.
In a press release, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office described an investigation that began around noon on May 18 when deputies responded to the area of Kreitzer Way near Coffill Road to investigate a report of burglary.
At the scene, the victim reported that the suspect or suspects had cut the padlocks to multiple sheds and stolen several items, including a generator, two weed eaters, and a Dodge pickup. The California Highway Patrol responded to take the stolen vehicle report, police said.
While deputies were at the scene, a man identified as Kyle Mitts, 34, reportedly approached the victim and deputy and informed them he was on probation with an ankle monitor.
Over the next 24 hours, deputies reviewed surveillance images from the burglary and determined that the incident likely involved three suspects. One suspect was identified as Mitts. Another was identified as Angelique Dutra, 29.
On May 22, CHP Sonora located and recovered the stolen pickup along a dirt road in the Long Barn Area.
On May 27, deputies arrived at Mitt’s residence to carry out a search warrant but did not find the generator or weed eaters.
Deputies also located and arrested Mitts and Dutra in the area of the Sugar Pine RV Park and Highway 108. Both were booked on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The third suspect in the burglary has reportedly been identified by investigators, but their identity has not been released to the public.
