“On 5-29-24, just after midnight, Tulare Police Officers were dispatched to an address in the 700 block of South R Street in Tulare regarding suspicious circumstances.
Officers arrived and made contact with two subjects in the driveway of a residence. The subject appeared nervous and officers observed what appeared to be blood on the ground and on the suspects’ clothing.
Officer attempted contact at the residence and eventually made entry to check for any injured persons. Upon entry officers located a deceased person, identified as 48 year old Travis Womack of Tulare.
The two subjects were immediately detained for further investigation. The scene was secured and Tulare Police Detectives were called to the scene. Through the course of the investigation detectives learned the deceased was a victim of a homicide and that the two detained subjects were involved.
The two suspects were transported to Tulare Police Department where they were booked, processed and interviewed. They are identified as 48 year old Sakuma Lockhard from Tulare and 26 year old Steven Elizondo of Delano. The motive for the homicide is still under investigation.
