“On 6/9/2024 at 1121 hours, Los Altos Police Department received a flock hit (automated license plate reader) on a stolen vehicle in the area of Fallen Leaf Ln. and Homestead Rd.
Officers responded to the area and located the stolen vehicle in front of Ace Hardware in the Foothill Crossings Shopping Center. The suspect was known and a photo was sent to responding officers via Los Altos Dispatch.
The vehicle was confirmed wanted in the stolen vehicle system (SVS). A perimeter was established with the help of the Santa Clara County Sheriffs Office (SCCSO). The SCCSO located the suspect at the register inside of Ace Hardware. The suspect, an adult male out of San Francisco, was on probation out of Santa Clara County for multiple offenses.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara Main Jail for 10851(a) CVC (Stolen vehicle), 11377(a) HS, 11364 HS (possession of narcotics and paraphernalia), 466 PC (possession of burglary tools), and for probation violations. The vehicle was released to the legal owner.”
