Suspect Reportedly Arrested in Connection with CSAM Investigation in Tuolumne County

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of an individual for allegedly receiving child sexual abuse material over the internet.

According to a press release, deputies and detectives served a search warrant on Thursday, July 11, in the Phoenix Lakes Estates area as part of an ongoing investigation into an individual allegedly receiving child sexual abuse material (commonly abbreviated as CSAM) over the internet.

Detectives reportedly authored multiple warrants to identify the location and identity of the suspect, and ultimately served the search warrant at the home of Michael Kenneth Matheson, 73.

Detectives arrested Matheson on suspicion of the possession of child sexual abuse material. Matheson was booked at the Damacher Detention Center.

The investigation remains active and no further information will be made available at this time, the Sheriff’s Office said.
