Fresno police are seeking leads in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Jerrell Rogers this past weekend.
In a press release, the Fresno Police department identified the victim as Rogers.
According to police, officers responded late on the night of Sunday, July 21, to the area of Modoc Street and Strother Avenue after the city’s Shot Spotter system had notified them of suspected gunfire in the area.
At the scene, officers reportedly found Rogers suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Rogers was ultimately pronounced deceased.
Homicide detectives also responded and currently believe that Rogers had been walking to a neighborhood store when several people approached him, chased him, and ultimately shot him, police said.
The investigation is active and ongoing as detectives search for surveillance footage or potential witnesses.
