San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dept Launches Operation Consequences, Seizes Firearms and Makes Arrests
Between August 10 and August 16, 2024, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department conducted a targeted crime suppression operation known as “Operation Consequences.” The operation, which involved investigators from the department’s Gangs/Narcotics Division along with deputies from various patrol stations, focused on multiple locations across Hesperia, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, San Bernardino, and Chino.
During the week-long operation, law enforcement personnel served eight search warrants and contacted multiple suspects. The operation primarily targeted gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms. As a result of the operation, seven firearms were seized, including three ghost guns. Additionally, illegal narcotics were recovered, and four felony arrests were made.
Operation Consequences is part of a broader initiative funded by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, aimed at enhancing county-wide crime suppression efforts. The goal is to provide additional resources to the Sheriff’s Department, allowing for increased law enforcement services focused on quality-of-life issues in the county.
The operation is expected to continue over the next several months, with efforts concentrated in the High Desert area and around the city of San Bernardino. The operation will involve personnel from multiple agencies, including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, United States Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations. The overarching objective is to curb violent crime, dismantle criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest individuals involved in the illegal possession, manufacturing, and trafficking of firearms.
