Culver City Police Investigate Assault with Deadly Weapon Near La Cienega
Culver City police are seeking leads as part of their investigation into a stabbing earlier this week.
According to a department media release, officers responded early on the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 28, to the area of Helms Ave. and Jacob St. for a report of a person having been stabbed.
The reporting party told officers that they had come across a man who said he had been stabbed and was actively bleeding, police said.
Officers soon located the victim, who had suffered a four-inch deep laceration to his forearm. Fire personnel responded to the area, provided treatment at the scene, and then took the victim to an area hospital.
Investigators believe the attack occurred late on the night of Tuesday, Aug. 27 near the 2900 block of La Cienega Boulevard, and that the victim had been shoved from behind and then stabbed in the arm.
The victim, who reportedly believed he was about to be robbed, ran away from the suspect along southbound La Cienega.
