Three Arrested Amid Investigation into Alleged Fentanyl Sales in Tuolumne County
Tuolumne County authorities have reportedly arrested three people amid an investigation into alleged sales of fentanyl in the county.
In a press release, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office identified two of the arrested individuals as Daniel Stephen Curtis, 39, and Gina Maria Chiodo, 43. As part of the investigation, authorities also secured a search warrant for a residence in Jamestown.
On the morning of Aug. 21, Tuolumne Narcotics Team agents, with assistance from Tuolumne County Probation’s High-Risk Supervision Team and the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division Detectives, carried out the warrant.
During the search, agents reportedly found fentanyl, methamphetamine, drug packaging, digital scales, and drug paraphernalia.
Evidence gathered during the investigation indicated that the residence was being used for the sale and use of fentanyl and methamphetamine, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Following the search, Curtis and Chiodo were arrested on suspicion of the sale of methamphetamine and fentanyl, maintaining a drug house, and destruction of evidence.
Authorities reportedly also investigated Faustino Joseph Vera, 31, of Modesto, at the scene for allegedly supplying fentanyl to Curtis and Chiodo.
The residence was reportedly confirmed to be within 1,000 feet of an elementary school, resulting in a sentencing enhancement.
Curtis, Chiodo, and Vera were booked at the Dambacher Detention Center.
