Siskiyou County Authorities Reportedly Seize Eight Pounds of Fentanyl During Traffic Stop

A man from Oregon was arrested after allegedly being caught with over eight pounds of fentanyl during a traffic stop in Siskiyou County.
On the night of Sept. 4, a Siskiyou County deputy initiated a traffic stop after reportedly seeing a white Range Rover speed through a single-lane construction zone on I-5 near Truck Village Drive.
The vehicle allegedly continued at a high rate of speed before the stop was initiated.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as Jose Andalon, 29, of McMinnville, Oregon.
During the stop, the deputy requested the assistance of the Weed Police Department’s K9 team. The K9 reportedly alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to a search of the vehicle.
Authorities located a silver revolver with spent cartridges in the driver’s side door, a grocery bag with four brick-like objects in the passenger seat, and a backpack with $4,400 in cash.
Further investigation confirmed the bricks contained over 3,703 grams, or just over eight pounds, of fentanyl powder and pills.
Andalon was arrested on suspicion of the possession and transportation of controlled substances for sale and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
