Thieves Caught Trying to Steal an ATM in Gold River

“Just after 4 a.m. on Sunday, Sept 15, 2024, Deputies received a burglary alarm from the Bank of America ATM near Gold Country Boulevard and Coloma Road in Gold River. A black Ford SUV pulled an ATM from its housing, utilizing hooks and chains. Deputies were already in the area and observed the black SUV driving in a grassy area with its lights off, trying to get around responding Deputies. As Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspects led them on a short vehicle pursuit when they hit a raised curb that disabled their vehicle. Two suspects fled from the vehicle on foot but were quickly taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded and unregistered handgun on the floorboard. The two brothers, 36-year-old Juan Rincon and 38-year-old Jose Rincon, were transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where they remain in custody on $50,000 bail and $10,000 bail, respectively.

Detectives believe both suspects may have been involved in similar unreported and unsolved incidents in the area. If you have information about either Juan Rincon or Jose Rincon and their involvement in these types of crimes, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Tips leading to an arrest are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000, and tipsters remain anonymous.”
