Juveniles Arrested After Allegedly Threatening School

“On the morning of September 18, 2024, the Porterville Police Department, in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), investigated Instagram and Snapchat posts pertaining to threats of shootings against Porterville schools. Officers with the Porterville Police Department initiated further investigation into the threats of violence and were able to identify the social media accounts along with the juveniles responsible for the threats. Officers responded to the residences of the juveniles who made the shooting threats and they were taken into custody without incident.

All of the involved juveniles were booked into the custody of the Juvenile Detention Facility in Visalia for felony charges.
Please be assured that the safety of our students, teachers, and school staff is our top priority. We want to ensure the community that our schools remain safe and that any threat received will be investigated promptly and thoroughly investigated.
