Sonoma County Man to Face Felony DUI Charge After Collision

HEALDSBURG, CA  –  A man is set to face felony DUI charges following a collision last week.

According to a press release, Healdsburg Police responded on the afternoon of Sept. 26 to a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle at Healdsburg Avenue and Parkland Farms Boulevard.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered that the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries. The man was transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was treated at the scene.

During the investigation, officers suspected alcohol involvement and obtained a search warrant for a blood draw from the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, identified as Glenn Merrifield, 50, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and possession of a controlled substance.

He was released on a citation while he recovers from his injuries and was given a future court date, authorities said.
