Lassen County Authorities Dismantle Two Illegal Cannabis Cultivation Sites

Lassen County authorities have reportedly dismantled to illegal cannabis cultivation sites in the Ravendale area.
In August of this year, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and Lassen County Code Enforcement initiated an investigation into illegal cannabis cultivation in the Ravendale area, according to a department press release.
Investigators identified two large grow sites on separate parcels located off Tuledad Road. Both sites contained approximately 18 greenhouses, outbuildings, and trailers.
Following the investigation, it was determined that cannabis was being actively cultivated at both locations, prompting the issuance of search warrants.
On Sept. 4, personnel from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, executed search warrants at both grow sites. Lassen County SWAT officials used a “long-range acoustic device” to make announcements, and the Sheriff’s Office Drone Team was also utilized.
No suspects were apprehended.
At the first site, law enforcement discovered approximately 5,800 marijuana plants, while an additional 4,200 plants were found at the second location.
Harvested cannabis was also located at both sites. The cannabis, along with the greenhouses and cultivation equipment, was eradicated.
Property owners will be taxed based on the size of the greenhouses, the Sheriff’s Office said.
