Corona Weekly Arrest Update: Calls for Service and Arrest Stats

“Good Morning, Corona Residents!
We want to keep you informed about the recent activities of your police department. Here’s a summary of the incidents to which our officers responded from Monday, September 23rd, 12:01 AM to Sunday, September 29th, 11:59 PM:
Calls for Service: Our officers attended 2,367 incidents, including 87 alarm calls, 27 area checks, 112 disturbance calls, 234 property checks, and 56 welfare checks.
Arrests: We apprehended 54 individuals involved in various offenses during this period.
Incident Highlights:
· September 25th, 5:05 PM: Police were dispatched to a call of a possible drunk driver in the 100 block of West Ontario Avenue. Officers arrived and located the black Chrysler. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the Chrysler, but it fled at a high rate of speed and a pursuit was initiated. The Chrysler drove over a raised center median and collided into another moving vehicle in the 1500 block of West Foothill Parkway. The driver, identified as Francisco Gomez (35 years of Lake Elsinore) also attempted to flee on foot before being arrested. He was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and evading police,
· September 26th, 11:24 AM: Officers conducted a traffic stop of a gray Volkswagen Jetta in the Crossings Shopping center (2400 block of Tuscany Street) due to suspicious behavior of the occupants, who were identified as Jessica Loomis (27 years of Aliso Viejo) and Bryan Ramirez (33 years of Corona).
Ramirez was on probation for identity theft. During a search of the Jetta, officers located stolen mail, stolen packages, and stolen credit cards from six different victims in Corona. Officers also located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and burglary tools allowing them to access mailboxes. Loomis and Ramirez were ultimately arrested for mail theft, identity theft, possession of burglary tools, and narcotics violations. Ramirez was additionally arrested for violating his probation.
· September 27th, 6:27 PM: HOPE Team officers were on a property check at City Park located at 930 East Sixth Street when they observed Frank Lopez (62 years of Corona). Officers recognized Frank from previous contacts and were aware he was named as a suspect in a stabbing which occurred at City Park on 09-16-24. Officers arrested Frank for assault with a deadly weapon from the previous week.
· September 29th, 1:35 AM: A patrol officer conducted a stop of a black Toyota Corolla in the 1000 block of West Sixth Street for a traffic violation. The driver, Mohamed Elshaar (40 years of Riverside) was contacted, and the officer noticed a fentanyl pill on the driver’s seat. A search of the car revealed an additional 101 fentanyl pills. Elshaar was arrested for possession and transportation of narcotics for the purpose of sales.
· September 29th, 7:29 AM: Officers responded to the 700 block of East Sixth Street regarding a robbery that just occurred. Officers contacted the victim who said he was punched and robbed of his wallet when he met someone from a dating website in person. Officers conducted an area check and located Alejandro Bibiano Salado (21 years of Moreno Valley) who matched the description at City Park (930 East Sixth Street). The victim’s wallet was located next to Salado and Salado was also identified by the victim. Salado was arrested for robbery.
