In the late hours of October 4, 2024, Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a large party in Yettem, California. The incident unfolded around midnight at a residence on Road 144, where deputies arrived to chaotic scenes with ongoing gunshots and panic among attendees.

Upon securing the scene, deputies located one individual suffering from gunshot wounds, which were determined to be non-life-threatening. He was promptly transported to a hospital for treatment. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, who is not affiliated with any gangs, was shot after confronting three individuals, identified as gang members, who had brought firearms to the gathering.

The suspects, identified as Daniel Tanguma, 18, Jacob Salinas, 20, both from Porterville, and Mathew Mejia, 18, from Visalia, were detained at the scene. Further investigation linked them directly to the shooting, and they were subsequently arrested and charged with attempted murder and various firearms offenses.
