San Francisco Narcotics Bust: Arrests Made in Tenderloin Neighborhood

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — In a coordinated effort to combat narcotics trafficking, the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) recently arrested two individuals on October 8, 2024, following a four-month investigation centered in the Tenderloin neighborhood. The operation involved collaboration between the SFPD Narcotics Unit, the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The investigation began after reports indicated that a subject was dealing in a significant volume of narcotics in and around the Tenderloin area. Authorities noted that the individual was utilizing a vehicle and was suspected of possessing firearms. As the investigation progressed, officers discovered that the subject had an active warrant out of San Francisco.
On the evening of the arrest, officers observed the suspect, identified as 24-year-old German Alfred Colindres Estrada from Oakland, along with a second male, 22-year-old Jose Colindres Erazo, parking their vehicle near 11th and Howard Streets. Both were detained by uniformed officers without incident at 11th and Mission Streets.
During the arrest, SFPD K-9 “Cooper” alerted officers to a backpack belonging to Estrada, which contained illegal narcotics. A subsequent search of Estrada’s vehicle revealed a loaded semi-automatic pistol concealed inside.
Further investigations at Estrada’s residence in Oakland led to the discovery of a hydraulic press, multiple press plates, and evidence indicating the use of cutting agents for narcotics production. Officers seized approximately $45,000 in cash, along with various narcotics including suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, prescription pills, and cocaine, totaling over 1,330 grams. Additionally, a number of disassembled firearms and ammunition were confiscated.
Both Estrada and Erazo were booked into San Francisco County Jail. Estrada faces multiple charges including possession and transportation of controlled substances, carrying a concealed firearm, and criminal conspiracy, among others. Erazo has been charged with similar offenses.
The SFPD has indicated that addressing the drug crisis in San Francisco remains a priority, and the department is committed to holding individuals accountable for trafficking illegal narcotics.
