HAYWARD, CA  —  Daniel M. Ramos, 46, of Newark, has been arrested and charged for the
murder of a man in Hayward. Ramos is being housed at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail
ineligible for release on bond, pending further court proceedings.

Police responded to a report of a shooting and vehicle collision on the morning of July 13. The
incident occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m. It happened near the 27000 block of Havana
Avenue. Officers found 19-year-old Angel Encisco, a resident of Hayward, suffering from fatal
gunshot wounds.

Hayward police said in a prepared statement. “The victim located in the driver’s seat
appeared to have collided into a parked car following a shooting.” Encisco was transported to
a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Homicide investigators believe Ramos is responsible for the fatal shooting of Encisco. A
warrant was executed on October 10 to search Ramos’ residence, where he was arrested at
10 a.m. Several firearms were recovered from his home.

Multiple charges were filed on October 14 against Ramos. His charges include murder and
shooting at an occupied vehicle. Ramos has also been charged with felon in possession of a
firearm, and possession of a large quantity of contraband. He has prior convictions for
possession of a controlled substance for sale, and possession of an assault weapon.

The fatal shooting investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information can contact
Hayward police, Detective Justin Green at 510-293-7176.
