Daly City: Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder, Mother Arrested as Accomplice

DALY CITY, CA – Officers with the Daly City Police Department have reportedly arrested a man on suspicion of murder, as well as his mother as an alleged accomplice.
According to a press release by the Daly City Police Department, officers responded on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 29, to the 1300 block of South Mayfair Avenue for a report of a shooting.
At the scene, officers reportedly found a 60-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police identified the primary suspect in the shooting as Maarij Abdullah Afridi, 21, of Daly City. Afridi had fled the area following the shooting, but was arrested the following day.
Police also arrested Afridi’s mother, Zaib Un Nusa Afridi, 50, as an alleged accomplice to the crime.
Both suspects were transported to the San Mateo County Main Jail, where they were booked on multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder.
