“Stanislaus County Sheriff’s patrol deputies arrested a father and son duo in unincorporated Oakdale yesterday morning. Jimmy Haston, 65, and Joshua Haston, 42, were taken into custody for numerous counts of animal cruelty.

The original call to law enforcement came on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 at 9:50 am in the 8500 block of Oak Creek Ct in Oakdale.
Dispatched initially on reports of a security/welfare check of an elderly male, deputies encountered deplorable conditions & ten severely neglected dogs.

Some were puppies & some were fully grown. One such dog had passed, while others were left without proper food, water or other sustenance. All were malnourished, emaciated & in need of urgent veterinarian attention.

County animal control responded to assist with rescuing the animals, while law enforcement took the liberty of booking the Hastons into the Public Safety Center for animal cruelty. They were held in lieu of $200,000 bail.

The fire department also responded to deal with the toxic fumes emanating from within the home.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We appreciate the teamwork and collaboration of all involved to help these defenseless pets.”
