Fresno Police Arrest Two Individuals in Connection with Two Separate Homicides

Investigators with Fresno PD’s Homicide Unit have reportedly arrested two individuals in connection with two separate homicide cases.
In a press release, the Fresno Police Department identified Donte Harmon, 27, and Maurice Fields, 30, as the individuals in question.
According to police, in the first investigation, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Abby Street and Garland Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 30. At the scene, officers discovered 35-year-old Sylvester Choi, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Choi was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two other victims with gunshot wounds were also contacted at the scene, police said.
The second investigation began on Sunday, Oct. 20, when officers responded to the area of Meyers and Arthur avenues to investigate new reports of gunfire. At the scene, officers found 35-year-old Patrick Dixon, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Dixon was later pronounced deceased at an area medical center.
Investigators apprehended Harmon and Fields with the assistance of the Sacramento Police Department and Fresno PD’s undercover tactical unit.
Harmon and Fields were arrested and charged in connection with both homicides, police said.
Police reportedly also identified a third suspect, 24-year-old Nathen Rodriguez, in connection with the murder of Sylvester Choi. Rodriguez was already in custody on an unrelated charge at this time.
All three suspects are known gang members and the homicides are believed to be gang-related, police said.
