Los Altos and Mountain View police coordinated to take a burglary suspect into custody late last week.

Just after 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, the Mountain View Police Department notified Los Altos officers about a man seen inside a residential garage near Springer Road and Vista Grande Avenue, Los Altos Police said in a press release.

At 11:20 a.m., another report came in, identifying the same individual running through a yard and jumping a fence near Arroyo Road. Officers began a coordinated search, and soon received another report around noon that the man had attempted to steal a bicycle from a garage on the 800 block of Raymundo Avenue.

The suspect fled the scene, but was later located and arrested in a backyard on Hollingsworth Drive in Mountain View.

The suspect, described as a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
