Sutter County Deputies Arrest Suspect in Live Oak School District Fuel Theft Case

LIVE OAK, CA  —  “Sutter County deputies took multiple fuel theft reports at the Live Oak school district’s fleet yard last week. The reporting party states that the suspect siphoned gas from school vehicle’s on three separate occasions.

Deputies conducted surveillance & located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Live Oak City Hall over the weekend. Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies located drug paraphernalia, a machete and a knife, in plain view, from the window of the vehicle.

Deputies contacted 39-year-old Dale Allen Brooks Jr. from Yuba City, and a records check determined he was on probation out of Colusa County. Due to the circumstances, a vehicle search was conducted. Deputies located two 5-gallon gas canisters, numerous shaved keys, burglary tools, and a sawed-off .410-guage shotgun.

Brooks was booked into the Sutter County Jail for possession of burglary items, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm and theft.
