San Luis Obispo Man Arrested for Severe Assault and Multiple Felony Charges

“On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, San Luis Obispo Police Department received a report of a female with facial injuries in the area of Prado and Higuera. The investigation revealed the female had been severely beaten by her boyfriend, Albert Jason Lucas II, age 53 and transient of San Luis Obispo, who fled the area prior to officers’ arrival. The female was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
Officers circulated the area and located Lucas near Elks and Prado where he was taken into custody without incident. Lucas was in possession of evidence related to the assault that occurred in a transient encampment near the creek behind the 3100 block of S. Higuera.
Lucas was booked into SLO County Jail on the following charges, all felonies (unless noted):
PC 273.5(f)(1) – Domestic Violence with a Prior Domestic Violence Conviction
PC 206 – Torture Causing Great Bodily Injury
PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon
PC 166(c)(4) – Violate Domestic Violence Restraining Order with a Prior Conviction
PC 12022.7(e) – Domestic Violence During the Commission of a Felony
PC 422(a) – Terrorist Threats
PC 3455(a) – Probation Violation/Hold
HS 11377(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance (misdemeanor)
On November 7, 2024, San Luis Obispo Police Department Detectives consulted with the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office. Lucas was arraigned today on the following additional felony charges:
PC 664/187 – Attempt Murder
PC 136.1(c)(1) – Dissuading A Witness by Force or Threat
PC 236 – False Imprisonment
Lucas is in custody with no bail, he will not be released from custody.
