Bakersfield Man Arrested for Alleged Contact with Minor and Possession of Harmful Material

“On November 4, 2024, Porterville Police Department Detectives concluded up an extensive investigation regarding an adult male who was contacting a minor and sending harmful material.
Although the investigation was complex, Detectives were ultimately able to identify the suspect as being 22-year-old Bakersfield resident Eladio Cordero Lara as the individual sending the illicit messages to the minor.
Based on this investigation, an arrest warrant for Lara was authored and signed by a Tulare County Superior Court Judge, for Contacting a Minor for Sexual Purposes, Sending Harmful Material, and Possession of Child Pornography. A search warrant for Lara’s Bakersfield residence was also endorsed by a Tulare County Superior Court Judge.
On Monday, November 4, 2024 at approximately 6:45 A.M., Porterville Police Department Detectives and Officers from the Bakersfield Police Department, responded to Lara’s residence to serve the aforementioned arrest and search warrants. Lara was contacted at the residence where he was taken into custody without incident pursuant to the arrest warrant. Porterville Police Detectives served the search warrant at Lara’s residence, where they collected a variety of electronic devices as evidence for further forensic analysis.
Lara was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility, where he is being held in lieu of $95,000 bail.
