ANAHEIM, CA — An Anaheim man has been arrested for the alleged murder of a teenager at a local park.
According to the Anaheim Police Department, officers responded to an area hospital on the night of Sunday, Nov. 10, where a 16-year-old boy had been admitted with “at least one” gunshot wound. The boy was later pronounced deceased at an area trauma center, police said.
Investigators determined the victim had been at John Marshall Park on the 2000 block of West La Palma Ave. when he was confronted by an unknown group of individuals. One of these individuals allegedly drew a handgun and shot the victim at least one time, police said.
Investigators soon identified Samuel Galeno, 19, as the primary suspect.
On the night of November 11, investigators carried out a search warrant at a home on the 1800 block of West Tamara Ln., where they also located and arrested Galeno.
Galeno was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility, with bail set at $1 million.
