REDDING, CA  — Authorities in Shasta County have arrested a man for the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material (commonly abbreviated as CSAM).

In a press release, the Redding Police Department announced that they had partnered with the Sacramento Valley High Tech Crimes Task Force to conduct an operation focusing on “persons suspected of engaging in possession or distribution” of CSAM.

At one point in the operation, detectives carried out a search warrant on the 600 block of Saginaw Street in Redding, confiscating the resident’s computer and digital storage devices.

Over the course of subsequent weeks, investigators searched the devices and reportedly discovered over 600 images and videos depicting child sexual abuse.

The suspect, whom police have identified as 64-year-old Duane Ohling, was arrested on November 6 and booked on suspicion of the possession of CSAM.
