Woodland Resident Arrested Following Shooting Incident on Clover Street
Early this morning at 2:41 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Clover Street. The Yolo County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene. Investigators determined that 33-year-old Woodland resident Bremmer Lopez-Sanchez fired a weapon at another individual residing in the same location. While no injuries were reported, Lopez-Sanchez remained inside the residence and was believed to be armed.
Officers established a perimeter and requested support from the Yolo County Regional SWAT Team, K-9 units, and drone teams. Law enforcement made multiple announcements urging Lopez-Sanchez to surrender. After several hours, Lopez-Sanchez was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives conducted a search of the residence under a warrant, uncovering a semi-automatic handgun and ammunition. Lopez-Sanchez was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and possession of ammunition. He was booked into the Yolo County Jail. Authorities expressed gratitude that no injuries occurred and acknowledged the assistance of neighboring agencies in resolving the situation.
