LATON, CA — Authorities in Kings County recently arrested three people in connection with the thefts of a trailer, motorcycle, and other items.
According to a press release by the Kings County sheriff’s office, deputies responded on November 12 to a report of a burglary in progress near Cairo Avenue and 9th Avenue.
Deputies reportedly found that an agricultural shop had been burglarized, with a trailer, motorcycle, and other items stolen. The suspects had left the scene before deputies arrived.
Surveillance video showed a suspect vehicle leaving the area towing the stolen trailer, the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives with the Rural Crimes Task Force reviewed the footage and identified the vehicle. They later located the vehicle at a residence on the 16000 block of S. Fowler Ave. in Selma. Deputies pulled the vehicle over when it left the residence.
A search of the property reportedly led to the recovery of the stolen items, which were returned to the owner.
Three people were arrested on suspicion of burglary, vandalism, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, vehicle theft, conspiracy, and outstanding warrants.
The sheriff’s office did not release the names of the suspects.
