Humboldt County authorities have reportedly arrested an individual wanted on a felony arrest warrant.
According to a press release by the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a residence on Larson Heights Road in connection with a wanted person investigation. Deputies were looking for 30-year-old Curtis Lawson, who was also on parole for felony assault.
Around 8 a.m., deputies knocked on the front door of the residence and announced their presence. Lawson was reportedly seen fleeing out the back door toward a wooded area.
Lawson reportedly refused to comply with commands to stop and allegedly engaged in a physical struggle with deputies before being subdued and placed in handcuffs.
A parole search of the garage area Lawson was occupying reportedly uncovered 4.7 grams of methamphetamine, a meth pipe, and Lawson’s ID.
Lawson was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on his parole violation warrant and on suspicion of resisting a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
