Shasta County Man Allegedly Caught with Assault Weapon, Narcotics

SHASTA LAKE, CA  —  Shasta County authorities arrested a man for the alleged unlawful possession of a firearm earlier this week.

According to a press release by the Shasta County sheriff’s office, deputies responded on the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 9, to a report of an armed individual in the area of Flanagan Road and Lake Boulevard.

Responding deputies located and made contact with the individual, whom they identified as 30-year-old Jordan Dickson of Whitmore.

During the investigation, deputies conducted a search of Dickson’s belongings and reportedly found four firearms, including two handguns and two rifles, one of which was allegedly not compliant with California laws.

Deputies reportedly also discovered approximately 34 grams of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, high-capacity magazines, and ammunition.

Dickson was arrested on suspicion of the possession of an assault weapon, possession of a controlled substance while armed, having high-capacity magazines, carrying a concealed weapon in public, and violating a court order.

He is being held at the Shasta County jail, authorities said.
