Woman on Probation for Forgery Accused of Posing as Police Officer, Scamming Elderly Victim

FAIRFIELD, CA — A woman on probation for forgery has been arrested for allegedly scamming an elderly victim out of thousands of dollars and using the money to buy a vehicle.
In a press release, the Fairfield Police Department identified Luisa Soane, 30, of Hayward as the suspect.
According to police, investigators began looking into a case of elder abuse in which the perpetrator allegedly stole several thousand dollars from the victim’s bank account and purchased a vehicle using the victim’s identity.
Authorities say that Soane had been in contact with the victim while posing as a Fairfield police officer.
On December 5, police took Soane into custody.
Investigators reportedly also discovered that Soane is on probation out of San Diego for forgery.
Soane was booked at the Solano County jail.
