PETALUMA, CA — Two respective individuals were arrested in connection with separate DUI-related collisions in Petaluma during late November, police announced in a press release over the weekend.
The first collision occurred just after 1 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21. Officers responded to a traffic collision at South McDowell Boulevard and Baywood Drive. A vehicle had crashed into a roundabout before striking a parked car in a driveway.
Police identified the driver as Edgar Piedra, 35, of Petaluma, who allegedly displayed signs of intoxication. Piedra was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into Sonoma County jail.
The second incident took place just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Officers responded to a solo vehicle crash near Petaluma Boulevard North and Industrial Lane, where a vehicle reportedly rolled multiple times before stopping near Denny’s.
Alexander Merideth, 33, of Petaluma, was identified as the driver. Police reportedly observed signs of impairment, and arrested Merideth for allegedly driving under the influence. He was also booked into Sonoma County jail.
These were two out of fourteen DUI-related arrests over the span of two weeks, police said.
