In the early morning hours of December 16, Ventura County Sheriff’s Department patrol units
responded to a 911 call for service about a home invasion burglary in the Hollywood Beach area
of unincorporated Oxnard.
As the cops rolled up to the reported address, they spotted a vehicle high-tailing it out of the area.
Suspecting a suspect on the run, deputies promptly gave chase. According to VCSD spokesman
Det. Jonathan Schnereger, the suspect vehicle racing off “erratically with willful disregard for
members of the public” and the pursuit was called off.
Later that day, Camarillo patrol deputies spotted the suspect vehicle with three occupants and
attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply, initiating a second vehicle pursuit.
The new chase continued from Camarillo to Oxnard with “assistance from the Ventura Sheriff’s
Air Unit and Oxnard Police Department patrol units.” All three suspects eventually abandoned
the vehicle in the City of Oxnard and attempted to flee on foot. Deputies quickly apprehended
23-year-old Jordan Corrales, 19-year-old Alfonso Corrales, and 24-year-old Michael Gomez, all
hailing from Oxnard.
Jordan Corrales was booked into the Ventura County Jail on charges of evading, burglary, and a
parole violation. He remains in custody with bail set at $500,000. Alfonso Corrales was booked
for resisting arrest, carrying a concealed dagger, prowling, and an outstanding misdemeanor
warrant. He remains in custody with bail set at $25,000. Michael Gomez was booked for
resisting arrest and conspiracy to commit a crime. He was released after posting a $40,000 bond.
