Authorities Reportedly Seize 25 Pounds of Methamphetamine in Drug Trafficking Investigation

The San Joaquin County METRO Narcotics Task Force arrested three individuals on Tuesday, Dec. 10, following an investigation into a criminal group suspected of trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, and firearms, the Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release.
According to the sheriff’s office, task force officers moved to apprehend the suspects during an attempted narcotics sale. The suspects reportedly fled in a vehicle, driving recklessly through a crowded parking lot and endangering pedestrians, parked vehicles, and law enforcement officers.
The suspects’ vehicle reportedly also struck multiple parked cars before officers ended the pursuit by using a patrol vehicle to block the their path.
At this point, several individuals fled on foot but were quickly apprehended. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 25 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately a quarter kilogram of cocaine, authorities said.
The suspects were transported to the San Joaquin County jail and reportedly face charges of drug trafficking and reckless driving. Their names were not released.
The investigation is ongoing.
