Shasta County Deputies Reportedly Find Stolen Gun, Narcotics During Traffic Stop

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — Two people were arrested during a traffic stop after deputies allegedly found narcotics and a stolen gun in the vehicle.

According to a press release by the Shasta County Sheriff’s office, deputies with the AB109 compliance team conducted a traffic stop at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, in the Happy Valley area for an alleged vehicle code violation.

The driver, Michael Trevor DiGeorge, 57, and passenger, Amber Leanne Brock, 38, were detained after deputies reportedly found a concealed, loaded, stolen handgun in DiGeorge’s waistband. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 2 grams of suspected methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia.

The Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force was called to assist. Both DiGeorge and Brock were arrested for possession of narcotics and paraphernalia, and DiGeorge was also arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.

A search warrant was obtained for DiGeorge’s residence on Dover Lane in Anderson. Detectives allegedly found four additional firearms, bear spray, a stun gun, two high-capacity rifle magazines, ammunition, body armor, 25 pounds of processed marijuana, 5 grams of methamphetamine, and paraphernalia.

DiGeorge, a convicted felon, was booked on suspicion of the possession of firearms, ammunition, body armor, a stolen firearm, controlled substances, high-capacity magazines, tear gas, and marijuana for sales. His bail was set at $52,000.

Brock was booked for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
