Bay Area Teaching Assistant Arrested for Alleged Possession of CSAM

SAN JOSE, CA — A teaching assistant in the Bay Area has reportedly been arrested for the alleged possession of child sexual abuse material.
According to a press release by the San Jose Police Department, deputies responded on Monday, Mar. 3, to Chandler Tripp School, where staff had reportedly found a USB flash drive containing the illicit images.
The flash drive belonged to 73-year-old Kirk McFarland III, police said.
McFarland reportedly admitted to deputies that he had viewed and downloaded the images from the internet, and also stated that he had not taken any inappropriate photos of students.
McFarland had been employed at the school for just over a month, police said.
