Stolen Firearm Located, Yuba City Man Arrested

YUBA CITY, CA  —  “On Sunday March 9th, 2025, YCPD officers were dispatched to a report of a person armed with a handgun in the 400 block of Dorman Avenue at around 1:00pm. When officers arrived, they contacted 21-year-old Gabriel Alexander of Yuba City, who appeared to be intoxicated, and matched the description the reporting party had given dispatchers. While on scene, officers spoke to multiple witnesses and were able to recover a loaded, semi-automatic handgun. Officers ran the serial number of the firearm and learned that it was reported stolen from Sacramento. After speaking with witnesses, officers learned Alexander had arrived in the area on foot and pointed the firearm at female who was outside. Alexander was a convicted felon and was on active Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) out of Sutter County.

Alexander was arrested on scene and booked into the Sutter County Jail for the following violations:

245(a)(2) PC – Assault with a semi-automatic firearm
25850(a) PC – Carrying a loaded firearm in public
30305(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of ammunition
29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of a firearm
3455(a) PC – Violation of PRCS
647(f) PC – Public Intoxication

The case is being forwarded to the Sutter County District Attorney’s Office for review. ”
