Burglary arrest brings molestation and child porn charges as well
GARDEN GROVE – Police announced the arrest of a long sought after burglar, who was also involved with an under-aged girl.
Since 2011, the Southwest area of Garden Grove has experienced at least 247 vehicle burglaries. In many reported cases, a white Range Rover was also spotted in the area, or witnessed at the scene of the crime. According to a Garden Grove police press release, in September 2012, a victim saw her vehicle being burglarized, and was able to catch the licence plate of a white Range Rover being used by the perpetrator.
Using the newly obtained information, Garden Grove police investigators served a search warrant on October 4th at the residence listed by DMV from the license plate. Police arrested Julio Cesar Pachas along with a female companion as they were leaving the location. In searching the home, police found several hundred items reported stolen in vehicle burglaries, along with a handgun, a taser, 119 drivers licenses, 241 credit cards, and hundreds of purses, wallets, backpacks, suitcases, and nearly $100,000 in cash. Victims were identified from Garden Grove, Westminster, Cypress. Los Alamitos, Buena Park, and Los Angeles County.
It was soon learned that his companion was in fact a 17-year-old girl who told the investigators that she had been dating Pachas for a while, and was having a sexual relationship with him. Nude photos of the girl were found on Pachas’s cell phone. He was charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and the manufacture of child pornography, along with four counts of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a handgun by a felon, with additional charges forthcoming.
However, detectives who broke this case weren’t through with Pachas. They learned he was out of bail after his arrest, and suspecting he would likely return to what he knew best, they requested a multi location search warrant. On November 20th, the detectives found additional stolen property in a storage unit he was using. Detectives found Pachas at his sister’s house, along with his girlfriend 20-year-old Michella Ann Fuquay. (Fuquay is not the minor girl he was previously found with when arrested in October.) Both Pachas and Fuquay were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.
Garden Grove police say that they have now arrested one of the most prolific vehicle burglars their department has ever encountered. They are holding a public viewing of the recovered property today (January 10th) from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Community Meeting Center. Potential victims and other interested parties are invited to come view the recovered items, and officers will be on hand to answer questions. The Garden Grove Police have set up an information line as well, at 714-563-6052.
