Arrest Warrants issued for December Robbery
After several months, 18 year old Amador Valentin Rivera (of East Palo Alto) and a 16 year old juvenile have been charged with felonies for a series of crimes.
The pair had been arrested with the armed robbery of Century Liquors, a Palo Alto liquor store, on December 29th last year, taking cash and $230 worth of alcohol at gunpoint. No one was injured.

Two months later, on January 5, 2013, the same two suspects were arrested for a three person carjacking (“Car Jacking Suspects Arrested”) using a realistic-looking BB gun, again in Palo Alto. The victim was uninjured and had her car returned to her.
“Rivera had been in custody at the Santa Clara County Main Jail for that carjacking arrest since January 5,” according to Det. Sgt. Brian Philip. The juvenile, who had been taken to the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, had subsequently been released from custody.
On Friday, February 15, 2013, the juvenile was arrested at his Oakland school for one count of robbery (a felony) for the liquor store robbery. He was taken to the same juvenile detention facility.
An arrest warrant for the same felony charge was obtained by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office on February 25th while Rivera was in custody.
Detectives are still investigating whether the pair are involved in a series of six street robberies dating back to December 2nd.
