East Palo Alto Police Search for Suspect in Road Rage
Palo Alto Police officers are searching for a suspect regarding the case of a 32 year-old Palo Alto man that was shot in the early hours of Friday morning.
Officers were dispatched at 12:46 a.m. to 1017 Beech Street on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim sitting on a sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. He was later transported to a local hospital, where he is now in stable condition.
The victim, who is now the main witness for the case, gave officers conflicting statements as to what exactly led to the shooting. After numerous versions, officers were able to determine that the shooting possibly happened as a result of a vehicle collision that turned to road rage.
East Palo Alto detectives were able to locate a vehicle that matched the witness description. The occupant of the suspected vehicle also gave conflicting statements to officers about the incident.
At this time, the suspect(s) are unknown and remain outstanding. The motive for the shooting appears to have been road rage.
