Suspect in Santa Rosa nightclub shooting Arrested in Sac
SACRAMENTO – The subject who allegedly shot a 23-year-old Santa Rosa nightclub bouncer was arrested over the weekend and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, according to police. Nightclub owners dubbed the shooting “a heinous hate crime.”
The bouncer was shot subsequent to telling David Angelo Montano, 25, of Santa Rosa to leave the Epic Social Lounge on Wednesday night. Montano, who has been sought since July 3, was arrested in a North Sacramento apartment complex on the 800 block of San Juan Road when detectives discovered his whereabouts. Montano was uncooperative with surrendering to police, but eventually gave in.
Montano was asked to leave after he reportedly began harassing other individuals during Pride night, using malicious terms and offensive language. Montano allegedly brandished a gun at the bouncer, shot him in the stomach and bolted.
Montano will be taken to Sonoma County to continue examining his probation violation and the attempted murder.
