Man runs wild to avoid SF Zoo fee
SAN FRANCISCO — Justin Montgomery, 24, of Los Angeles, decided to pay the San Francisco Zoo a visit, however, he did not want to pay the $15 admission fee. Zoo security officers pursued Mr. Montgomery — he had to pay some sort of price. He led officers on a chaotic retreat, scurrying through several animal exhibits.
Security officers held Montgomery in custody until police arrived, he was arrested on charges of trespassing.
Zoo spokeswoman Abbie Tulller stated that visitors spotted Montgomery climbing an exterior fence. He then ran through the Africa Savanna exhibit, a precinct plotted with giraffes, ostriches and zebras before re-entering the public viewing area.
The hot pursuit took security officers to the Primate Discovery Center. Montgomery was then discovered ducking in the bushes near another exhibit containing mandrills, large monkeys from West Africa. Montgomery’s excuse to police was that he simply did not want to pay the fee. One can guess that the trespassing fines will be more pricey.
Zookeepers responded quickly to secure the monkeys in other areas. None of the animals sustained injuries.
