Suspect In Custody After Stabbing Death Of 16-Year-Old
VICTORVILLE – A 20-year-old man was arrested as a suspect in Sunday’s killing of a 16-year-old Adelanto youth, possibly a gang-related case.
San Bernardino Sheriff’s deputies arrested Carty Larue Jackson, of Victorville, after the death of Emmanuel Davies, 16, who died of injuries suffered from stab wounds in a fight at a party.
Davies, who was transported to a local hospital, died at 12:38 am on Sunday. The county coroner reported that he suffered from upper body trauma.
Deputies responded at 12:09 am to a call at a party held at Seventh St. and La Paz early Sunday morning concerning a fight at the residence, according to a news release.
When they arrived, Davies was found suffering from stab wounds in the parking lot at a nearby Rite-Aid drug store. Taken to Victor Valley Global Medical Center, he was pronounced dead within the hour.
Homicide Detail investigators said several people at the party determined that a “fight erupted between the victim and suspect and the victim was stabbed.” Investigators said the incident may be gang related. Several witnesses identified Jackson as the suspect.
Later deputies located the suspect, who was arrested at 2:30 pm on Sunday. He was detained at his Victorville residence, arrested and later booked at the Victorville jail for murder, according to reports. The Sheriff-Coroner said Jackson was ineligible for bail and was due at Victorville Superior Court at 12:30 pm on Tuesday.
